THE WHALE BAR
At the Whale Bar, the overwater lounge, offers tapas and locally sourced seafood as well as hand-selected wines and spirits while enjoying unfettered views of the Indian Ocean and our private coral reef.
The Whale Bar’s distinctive shape recalls the majestic whale shark. This whimsical but elegant retreat is elevated by light oak interiors, a refined bar, and a softly lit neutral palette. The venue’s cynosure, our traditional St. Regis mural, adorns the ceiling. A pyrographic masterpiece on wood by renowned artist Maya Burman, the installation depicts a father and son discovering a paradise of corals, fish, and plankton—a celebration of the Maldives’ vibrant sea life. The distinctive lounge opens directly onto an open-air terrace, where plush sofas and armchairs invite guests to admire seductive views of the sea and Vommuli Island’s immaculate reef.
Their experienced team of chefs work tirelessly to offer flavorful à la carte dishes as well as three- and five-course set menus. Specialties include garlic-marinated king prawns with white wine sauce and smoked paprika as well as salted cod with capsicum confit and roasted aubergine. Designed to please connoisseurs and dilettantes alike, their worldly array of cocktails includes the Island Mary, the signature interpretation of The St. Regis Bloody Mary tradition.
Warm ocean breeze waft into this cozy beachfront pizzeria where casual patio-style beach seating is elevated by stunning pool and ocean views.
Thin-crust pizzas with inspired toppings like tandoori chicken or Maldivian tuna are cooked to perfection in the outdoor pizza oven, and sandwiches and snacks are complemented by cold draft beers and fresh juices.
Delectable cuisine meets uncompromising service at The St. Regis Maldives signature restaurant, Alba. The all-day open kitchen promises indelible Italian cuisine accompanied by breathtaking views of the resort’s pristine beachfront and shimmering pool from the picturesque terrace and dining room.
White oak floors and a natural palette of ivory and sand enhance the dining room’s airy atmosphere while ample natural light streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows framed in elegant black iron. The space is further distinguished by a lively central show kitchen, a separate island kitchen, and a refined bar encased in natural oak.
The executive chef, Ayyoub Salameh, evinces his culinary prowess by reinterpreting traditional Italian dishes.
Breakfast specialties include poached egg with orange hollandaise and black truffles; inspired appetizers and entrées such as foie gras terrine, white asparagus with fried polenta, and a variety of risottos and handmade pastas are followed by tempting desserts, including gelato and spice cake.
Enticing vegetarian and gluten-free selections are also available, and a children’s menu features dishes favored by younger palates, such as French toast and deli sandwiches.

Boasting a tranquil setting of white oak and sleek gray décor, the beautifully appointed dining space is illuminated by contemporary black iron chandeliers and romantic recessed lighting. Against the colorful tile backdrops distinguishing each of our three distinctive show kitchens, the experienced chefs showcase their culinary talents.
Meanwhile, guests can enjoy unfettered views of azure sky and sea framed by tropical greenery and white-sand beaches from our partially enclosed dining room and open-air terrace.
At the Indian and Pakistani grill, delectable curries and biryanis are accompanied by fresh naan and chapati from our traditional tandoor. The Japanese bar offers tantalizing sushi and sashimi as well as charcoal-grilled yakitori elevated by an extensive collection of renowned sakes. Their seasonal Asian kitchen features a curated selection of Korean, Sichuan, and Cantonese dishes prepared from the freshest ingredients, including dim sum, prawn dumplings, and roasted duck paired with traditional sakes and sous.
